Event producers sometimes get flustered because different event vendors specify different ?kinds? of power. For example, the lighting company asks for three phase power, the sound company asks for single phase power, the caterer asks for 220 and the décor company asks for some 120 volt circuits. We get panicky calls because our customer fears that 4 different kinds of generators will be needed and there?s only a budget for a single generator.

Typically event generators are set up to provide three phase power because it?s most efficient for power generation and for distribution. The good news is that, as long as you?re dealing with standard voltages, a three phase generator can simultaneously provide three phase, single phase, 220 volt, and 120 volt power. The secret is in how the electrical distribution system is designed and installed. The event producer does need to communicate the specific requirements to the generator provider, but the generator people take it from there to make sure everyone gets what they need.

SUCCESS STORY ISCES Castaway for new members Sidram Power provided the power and area lighting for this years ICES annual membership drive. Though the theme was Castaway Island, the party was not without power and light. Sidram Power provided an Ultra Silent Generator and power distribution for the event. As the theme was Castaway Island the power needed to be hidden and fit into the decore of the event. Sidram Power technicians trenched the power distribution well under the sand to hide all cables from view and provide views and walkways free of cable and cable ramps. Using the buried cables power was provided to the bars, buffet, stage and gaming area. With the party on the beach, area lighting was needed to ensure that guest could enjoy their visit and ensure a safely lit area. Sidram Power supplied the area lighting with our new Glo Bug. This unit was offset to the party to supply a natural moon light effect. One Glo Bug was used to light the entire party area and walkway yet was not obtrusive to the guest and fit into the parties theme. The Glo Bug area light was powered by a Honda EU3000 to ensure the Glo Bug and generator would not be loud or interfering to the party. The Glo Bug was used in place of a traditional light tower. Construction light towers are generally loud and have smelly emissions, the new Sidram Power Glo Bug light the same area 360 degrees with no glare and when powered with our quite Honda Generator have extremely low emissions and are Very quite.
